Suspension of tar coal supply slows pace of road projects
ISLAMABAD: The pace of ongoing development projects in the capital is being badly affected due to stoppage of the supply of tar coal. If the supply is not restored, then all the projects related to construction of the roads would be suspended.
CDA sources said that the only source of provision of tar coal is the Attock Oil Refinery, which provides 40 tonnes of tar coal daily out of which 20 tonnes was used by the MPO Directorate while 20 tonnes was distributed among construction firms busy in the construction of roads. It may be recalled that the Refinery had stopped the supply of tar coal from last Thursday. Sources said the CDA did not cooperate with the oil refinery in setting up petrol pumps due to which the refinery stopped the supply of tar coal. online
