ISLAMABAD: All under construction development projects have been brought to a halt due to the unavailability of construction material.
According to sources, development projects initiated by the CDA, worth billions of rupees, including the construction of overpasses and flyovers are in the doldrums due to the shortage of construction material. Most of these projects were to be completed by the end of this month. According to sources, the projects are not pending due to the contractor negligence but due to the shortage of Tar coal, which has become scarce in the entire country. Tar Coal is only available in two factories in the country out of which one is in Attock and the other is in Karachi.
