| Yusaf Bashir wins Dawn spelling bee contest |
Hassanabdal : Yusaf Bashir Hadi did the Cadet College Hassanabdal proud when he walked off the stage as the regional champion of the Dawn in Education Spelling Bee Competition.
On the final day of the competition, Yusaf Bashir Hadi beat his last competitor Suleha Kamal of the EMS High School when he spelt the word ‘Opalescence’ correctly.
In this tough competition between the 15 and 17 age category, Ahmad Khan of IMCB, F-10/3, was declared the second runner-up, Mohammad Hamza, Cadet College Hassanabdal, remained the third runner-up and Gibran Waheed also of Cadet College Hassanabdal was the fourth runner-up.
It may be noted that Mahad Nadeem of Roots School System, Harley Street, was the third runner-up in the 9 to 11 age category.
The event was organised by Dawn Media Group in collaboration with Djuice - Telenor Pakistan.
