| District Council session adjourned |
ATTOCK: The session of district council Attock was adjourned for absence of district officers in the sitting.
The Convener said those remain absent included Executive District Officers(EDOs) and district officers of all district government departments.
As per rules, he said that required number of district officials were necessary for holding session but they did not turn up despite reminders and warnings.
The members observed one minute silence to condemn the aggressive tone of Indian government towards Pakistan in wake of Mumbai attacks.The Convener also tabled a resolution and was adopted by the council unanimously, which said that like the other parts of the country, people of all segments of Attock district were united and ready to safeguard their motherland in case of any Indian aggression.The resolution reads “We are peaceful nation and want peace in the region but will not tolerate any aggression against the country”.
Nazim Maluwali union council Malik Riazuddin Awan lodged complaint against indifferent and partial attitude of EDO education Attock district, saying he neglected schools of remote villages in appointment of English teachers.Later, the members of the council offered Fateh for the departed soul of former deputy commissioner Syed Abu Shamim Arif, who was also father-in-law of district police officer Attock Fakhar Sultan Raja.
