CJP takes suo motu notices of human rights violations
ATTOCK: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Abdul Hameed Dogar took suo
motu notices on reports and individuals’ applications against human
rights violations.
The CJP took suo motu notice of an incident
on January 7, 2008 on an appeal by Muhammad Akram that was published in
a local daily. It stated that accused Arshad Khan had killed his wife
and two daughters. An FIR had been lodged with Bisal Police Station but
the accused had not yet been arrested.
The CJP directed the
Attock district police officer (DPO) to personally appear before the
Supreme Court on January 23, along with a detailed report.
