ATTOCK: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Textile Industry Dr Mirza
Ikhtiar Baig has said that industrial estate will be constructed near
the Islamabad-Peshawar motorway to fulfill the long standing demand of
the business community hailing from Attock.
He also said that the duration of loadshedding of electricity and gas
will be further minimized to overcome the energy crisis particularly in
the industrial sector of the country. These views he expressed while
talking to the President Attock Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mirza
Abdul Rehman on Chehlum rites of his spouse held here at his residence.
Among others, Chairman, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr.
Tariq Saeed, President, FPCCI Mr. Munawar Mughal, former ministers
Malik Amin Aslam, Malik Hakmeen Khan, Malik Aslam Khan and Chairman
Attock Press Club Syed Raza Naqvi were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Textile
Industry Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig has said all the dead industrial zones
will also be re-activated to increase the export index after exploring
new horizons with the coordination of Chamber of Commerce and
Industries. He said the unemployed workers are being imparted
vocational and technical training who will be onward inducted in the
industrial sectors. Dr. Ikhtiar Baig said that the process of
re-instatement of more than 6000 sacked workers of various
organizations is under way which will completed within a short span of
time along with their seniority and all financial benefits. He said
special focus is being given on the construction of new hydro power
dams besides thermal power as well as power generation through coal is
being finalized with the collaboration of Chinese experts. He said the
Iranian government has also offered to share their power sector. He
said that business exchange programmes have also been chalked out to
promote commerce and industry relations with south Asian and European
countries. He said textile is the corner stone industry of Pakistan
which will be on the priority in our new industrial policy expected to
be announced in course of time, he added.
