Probe ordered into woman's death in Attock hospital
Attock: The executive district officer (health) Attock initiated an inquiry into the death of a woman heart patient at the District Headquarters Hospital due to unavailability of life-saving drugs and other facilities.

The EDO, Dr Musarrat Hussain, took the decision after the incident was reported in a section of the press on Thursday.

EDO said after completion of the inquiry departmental action would be taken against the responsible officials.

The woman, a resident of Darul Salam Colony, died at the hospital after battling for life for two hours.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s husband, Mr Sadiq, local social figures and human rights activists have demanded that the chief justice of Pakistan should take suo motu action over the incident in public interest.

They said on the one hand the government was claiming to providing better health facilities to the masses and on the other there was no facility for the emergency patients even at the DHQ hospital.
