FBISE result from whole district Attock
 
ATTOCK: In Attock District in Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education(FBISE) Secondary level Examination 1st & 2nd position were bagged by girls where as 3rd position were went to a boy. From Attock District 851 students which included girls and boys, of 17 different institutes appeared in the secondary examination. Out of these students 650 were declared successful where as 206 could not qualify, thus the result remained 76.38%. The position holders include Amara Yasmin Roll No 734988 of MRF College Kamra who secured 773 marks and stood first in the district, Farhat-ul-Ain Roll No 734941 of F.G. Girls School Sanjwal secured 767 marks and stood second, where as Rana Ahsan Javed Roll No 712137 of Fauji Foundation Model School Attock secured 759 marks and stood third in the district. Results of the four schools which included Army Public School Attock, Fauji Foundation Model School Attock, FG Girls School Sanjwal and Wapda School Barotha remained 100%, where no students was failed.

Local bodies system has empowered people: Shaukat Aziz
 

pm-attaATTOCK: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday said the local bodies system has empowered the people at the grassroots level, thus adding confidence to generate development activities as per their needs. He was talking to District Nazim Attock, Maj ® Tahir Sadiq, who called on him here at the Prime Minister House this afternoon. The Prime Minister said that the local bodies system has been designed to facilitate the solution of people’s problems and providing them basic facilities and necessities of life at their doorstep.

Nazim Attock updated the Prime Minister about several development projects relating to the provision of electricity, water, gas, education, health facilities and construction of roads, which he added has brought about a qualitative improvement in the lives of common people in the district.

Maj ® Tahir Sadiq said that Attock is an agricultural area and the district government has taken several initiatives including the development of livestock to increase the income of the farming community.

Pakistan Railways has launched ETS
 

 ATTOCK: Pakistan Railways has launched "Electronic Ticketing Service"(ETS) at Attock Railway Station and now people would be able to get tickets for any Railway Station and return tickets. This was stated by Sher Muhammad spokesman of Pak Railway at Attock Railway Station while talking to The Nation. He said that by launching ETS people would be able to get railway tickets from Attock Railway Station to any other railway station at any time and may reserve their seats also. He said that ETS was available for all the trains running throughout the country. He said that by introducing ETS people would be able to save their precious time and money as they had not to travel to any other city for getting railway tickets.

Educators demand inrease in Salary
 

ATTOCK: The Educators working on contract in different schools of Attock have demanded raise in their salaries and regularisation of their service. They demanded this in a meeting of the educators held in Attock. The meeting was attended by male and female educators of the district. They demanded that 15% raise in salaries and teaching allowances be paid to them and their services must be regularised. They demanded that govt to ensure basic rights of the teachers.

Thanks Giving Day in Attock
 

ATTOCK: By restoring Mr Chief Justice Itikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, Supreme Court has announced the freedom of Judiciary and now people are seeing a way of hope. This was stated by President DBA Rana Afsar Ali Khan which addressing bars members on "Thanks Giving Day". On the ocassion Advocate Sheikh Ahsan-ud-Din, Advocate Sheikh Waqar Azeem, Irfan-ullah Malik, General Secretary Bar Syed Tahir Bokhari, Advocate Shah Nawaz were also present. Rana Afsar Ali said that this movement was the Pakistan Movement, and would remain continue till the resination of President General Pervez Musharraf and return of army to barracks. The other advocates in their addresses said that the success of movement of the advocates was the symbol of the unity of the lawyers. They saidthat advocate had won the battle of the freedom of judiciary. By giving historic verdict Supreme Court has saved Pakistan from disintegration and they paid rich tributes to the judges of the Supreme Court. The members of the bar also paid rich tributes to media and specially journalists of Attock for giving coverage to the lawyers movement.

Another foreigner turns out to be resident of Attock
 

ATTOCK: Another deceased, who had been declared foreign terrorist by the government after the Lal Majid operation, has been identified as a resident of Attock.

The authorities had released pictures of some deceased, saying they were foreign terrorists and were involved in firing at the law enforcers from Lal Masjid. One of them had been identified as Usman Shah of Attock a few days ago.

Mohammad Ashraf, a resident of Shakardarra, Attock, has identified another “foreigner” as his son, Mohammad Aksar. Mohammad Ashraf told reporters that he was proud of the martyrdom of his son who offered the supreme sacrifice for Islam. He criticised the government for terming those martyred in the Lal Masjid operation as terrorists.

“When I saw the picture of my son, he was wearing the same clothes that he had taken from home. His martyrdom has not saddened our family but the statement of the government did so,” Ashraf said.

High alert declared in Attock district
 

ATTOCK: Security has been enhanced in the Attock district that is home to a large number of defence installations, it has been learnt.

Pakistan Army vehicles mounted with machines guns have intensified patrols around the premises of sensitive organisations like Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) in Kamra, Pakistan Ordnance Factories in Sanjwal and the Ghazi Barotha Hydropower Project.

Sandbag bunkers manned by heavily armed soldiers have also been established at all entry points leading to the PAC Kamra.

All SDPOs, SHOs and officials of other law-enforcement agencies have been directed to intensify patrolling in their respective jurisdictions.

The Attock police have also started collecting complete details of Afghan refugees, activists of religious organisations and other anti-social elements.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened for foreigners working on various projects including the Ghazi Barotha Hydro-power Project, PAC Kamra and in oil exploring companies in the Attock district.

MMA President says locals were 'dubbed' foreigners in Lal Masjid
 

Terming the Pakistani Government's claims of involvement of Islamic fighters from neighbouring countries in the Lal Masjid stand-off a "joke," the leader of opposition Jamat-e-Islami today alleged that locals were "dubbed" as foreigners.

Addressing a condolence meeting in Rawalpindi today, Qazi Hussain Ahmed said the government claimed that a large number of foreigners were present in Lal Masjid, but none were found or detained during the operation.

"It is joke that locals are being dubbed as foreigners," Hussain, who is also President of the Islamist alliance Muthahida Majlis Amal (MMA), said.

Ahmed said one the student being shown as a foreigner belonged to Attock in Punjab, and accused the military government of conducting the operation only to please America.

Attock UC naib nazim voted out
 

ATTOCK: Councillors of Attock-I Union Council on Saturday voted out their naib nazim Sheikh Mehmood Elahi, who is also the naib nazim of Attock Tehsil. During voting on a no-confidence motion, 10 members out of 13 belonging to the district nazim’s group voted in favour of the motion.

According to sources, Nazim Malik Tahir Awan, Khalida Azhar, Mehboob Sultan, Shaheen Begum, Jameel Ahmad, Mohammad Iqbal, Nazir Ahmad, Saleem Iqbal, William Masih and Shahab Rafique cast their vote in favour of the no-confidence motion moved by lady councillor Shaheen Begum and others on May 28.

Advocate Syed Azmat Bukhari, counsel for the petitioners Nazim Malik Tahir Awan and others, told Dawn that only three members - the naib nazim, his uncle Farman Elahi and Mrs Jaffery - did not participate in the voting process.

Five persons kidnap teenage Girl
 

ATTOCK KURD: Jand Police have registered First Information Report (FIR) against five persons including a woman in the abduction of fourteen years old Girl in the area of Fateh Jang .

According to details, Mehboob Jan W/o Mohammad Saleem told that last day she went to the market for shopping along with her husband and left her fourteen years old daughter inside house and locked the house from outside. When we returned the door was already unlocked and our daughter disappeared, she maintained. She alleged that Mehmood Iqbal, Zaffar Iqbal, Khan Gull, Iqbal and Zulnazoo Khan Gull kidnapped her daughter .

Police have registered the kidnapped case against culprits and starting searching of the girl.
