ATTOCK: President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and PPP leader
Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan said on Thursday that he would remain with the
deposed judges and continue the struggle till their restoration.
He said he would not quit the PPP on the issue of the deposed judges and expressed the hope that the judges would be restored soon under the Islamabad Declaration. He stated this while talking to the media here at the residence of SCBA member Sheikh Ahsanuddin, advocate.

on the judgesí issue, the civil society, lawyers and intellectuals in
the US extended their support in this regard.
He said if the deposed judges were not restored, the lawyers would observe two-hour sit-ins at all the inter-city roads of all the districts. He said the lawyers' movement would remain peaceful in the future also.
Aitzaz said if the ìPCO judiciaryî tried to grant stay order against the restoration of the deposed judges, the lawyers would show resistance.He said that the restoration of the judges was a dream of the late Benazir Bhutto, who announced before her assassination to hoist the national flag on the house of deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

23-08-2008 03:55, , Guest What a Committment Have you noticed like many, time and time again,Aitzaz from PPP and Nawas from Muslim league (N) have been saying the same thing. We need people like these among our politicians who would not trade for anything verses what they have committed to. Zardari who has been in forefront of every trickery and confusion is again doing exactly what his nature is. He better learn his abc in Politics... that is - Do not become a party to anything that he feels goes against his choice. He is acting like a child who suddenly got something from his papa and have no idea what to do. |
