vital role in making the economy of the country strong and vibrant. He said this while addressing the oath taking ceremony of the traders on Monday at Hasanabdal.
He said that present government has always taken positive steps for the welfare of the traders community.
District Nazim Attock Maj (R) Tahir Sadiq, MPA Sardar Muhammad Ali, Tehsil Nazim Hasanabdal Shafqat Khan Tahir Khaili, Office bearer oftraders and other notables of the city were also present.
The minister urged the traders to keep prices of the commodities stable for the welfare of the people.Criticizing the opposition, he said that they did nothing during their regime for the welfare of the masses and now, he added they are involved in politicizing a judicila issue.
He said that upcoming elections would be free fair and transparent. He said that international media and observer may come to monitor the forthcoming general elections.
He assured the people of Hasanabdal that "Hasanabdal Railway Station" would be fully renovated and a survey in this regard would be completed with in next 15 days.
District Nazim Attock Maj (Retd) Tahir Saddiq and President traders union Hasanabdal Choudary Jamshaid Akhtar also spoke on the occasion.
The minister said present government had given complete freedom to the press.
Rashid said that people friendly policies of President Musharraf has put the country on the path of progress.
The Railways Minister said that he had taken revolutionary steps for the progress of railways.
He said during a short period of time 13 new trains were introduced on different routes which were not only generating revenues for the country but also providing better traveling facilities.
He said that launching of another train between Rawalpindi and Karachi was under consideration.
Earlier federal minister administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers of the traders union.
