Rain plays havoc in Attock
ATTOCK: Rain played havoc in Attock and adjoining areas inflicting heavy losses of property on the people. The heavy rain in the city not only paralysed the routine life of Attockonians but also marred the business of almost all of the Sunday bazaars set up in various areas of the city.
The official monsoon season, which started from July 1, has yet to show any sign of rain in the Sindh’s coastal region, contrary to the forecasts made by the meteorological department. However, meteorologists are still hopeful that the city will receive enough showers to meet the seasonal rain average.
In the first spell, various other major cities and towns in the upcountry received heavy rainfalls including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faislabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha, Mangla and Jhelum.
