The twin towns of union council Tarap, Tehsil Jand lack basic facilities like water, electricity, gas, education and mettle roads. Despite that the towns are not far from the developed areas of the said union council, as electricity and gas are available in the adjoining areas but Dhok Rakh and Bagadial are presenting the look of stone age. Besides, there is not even a primary school in these villages and the students have to travel for three to four kilometer on foot to quench thirst of education. That is why the 90 percent population of the villages are illiterate and the high rate of illiteracy is negating the tall claims of the Punjab government of ‘Parah Lekha Punjab’.
