Colonel Mohammad Khan and Ghulam Jelani Burg!

I would like to share some piece of thought with readers.

I know Mohatram Guam Jelani Burq Marhoom as a great scholar and professor. He used to teach at Government College Attock.  Colonel Mohammad Khan mentioned Burq Sb.’s name in ‘moqadma’ of his great book, “Bajang Aamad” with great respect as his teacher.

It was a great era of great teachers and great students.Does someone, specifically Mohatram Talawat Bokhari Sb, please tell us where was Colonel Mohammad Khan taught by Burq Sb? Most probably at the great Attock College where according to my knowledge, Burq Sb used to teach. It would be great if some detail be provided about that historic happening.

I know only about Burq Sb as my ‘girraeen’, belonged to Basal, Distt. Attock and a great scholar and thinker. I heard about one of his controversial books, ‘Do Quran’ but haven’t read it. But someone told me that Burq Sb mentioned two Qurans in the sense of one being decorated only for kissing and getting blessings in the physical sense and one that is read for wisdom and finding a way of life ( Quran ko dil men uttar lena ).

Unfortunately, every critical and scholarly attempt at analyzing a certain status quo and a routine becomes controversial without any thought. An established Islamic scholar like Maulana Maudoodi becomes controversial even among otherwise his followers for writing “Khilafat e Malokiyat”. Because he analyzed all the periods of Khilafat in a critical way, they branded him pro-shia for giving preference to Hazrat Ali’s period to some extent. It is a sad state and must change now at least.
