18 injured in road accident
ATTOCK: Eighteen people were injured, nine seriously, when a Pindi-bound runaway wagon (LRD-8588) mounted the median on Peshawar Road and overturned while overtaking a truck in the limits of Tarnol Police Station on Saturday.
According to police, the wagon heading from Attock was overtaking a truck near EME College when its brakes failed. As a result, it mounted the median and overturned.
The police and Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital and Holy Family Hospital.
Nine injured persons, including two children, were shifted to the Holy Family Hospital due to their critical condition. Their names are Mukhtaran Bibi, 60, Khadeja Bibi, 50, Khalid Khan, 47, Naveed Ahmed, 70, Muhammad Hashim, 70, Sher Zaman (wagon driver), 40, Khalid Ahmed, 27, Imran, 25, and Walayat Shah.
The remaining nine passengers shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital are Fida Hussain, 26, Huma Fida, 20, Asma Fida, 5, Fahad Fida, 3, Haji Muhammad, 36, Sarwar Khan, 60, Rafaqat Hussain, 20, Muhammad Jamil, 27, and Muhammad Tayyab, 47.
