Cop suspended ‘for plundering people’
Hassanabdal: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nasir Khan Durrani (Regional Police Officer) has suspended a police official involved in plundering people by holding illegal checking at Hassanabdal.
He also issued a show-cause notice to him, a spokesman of the RPO’s office said on Monday. Upon receiving complaints about illegal checking and misbehaving with public at Haripur Road, Hassanabdal, the RPO referred the case to the ADIG, Rawalpindi, for inquiry.
The matter was probed by the ADIG, Rawalpindi, which revealed that Constable Afzal Ahmed of City Police Station (Hassanabdal), along with three police volunteers, indulged in illegal checking by posing as an ASI. Following the inquiry report, DIG Nasir Khan Durrani placed the constable under suspension and issued a show-cause notice.
