| ACE nabs two policemen for taking bribe |

According to details, a Harbanspura police party comprising ASI Muhammad Aalam and constable Muhammad Siddique went to Attock to arrest one Muhammad Aslam involved in a bogus cheque case and stayed at his residence for over a week. The policemen and Imran Shahzad, a relative of the accused reportedly entered into an under-hand-deal by which the accused had to pay the cops Rs 30,000 as gratification at Attock, with an amount of Rs 70,000 to be paid later at Lahore.
Imran Shahzad, in the meanwhile, lodged a complaint to Sibtain Kazmi, AD Anti Corruption Investigation, Attock and briefed him about the situation. The said official conducted a trap raid under supervision of judicial magistrate Hamid Nawaz Gondal and arrested the two cops red-handed while taking bribe. A case has been registered against the policemen who have been sent to jail on judicial remand.
