ATTOCK: Attock District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Hanif Joyia Monday told the court that both the murderers of TV anchor and actress Noor- ul-Ain had been arrested and that their challans would be submitted soon.

The DPO, who headed the investigation team, also submitted a progress report to the court through Additional Advocate General Punjab Qazi Muhammad Amin.
According to the report, Noor was murdered by her husband Aamir Waseem and his friend Zubair and both have confessed to their crime.

The body of Noorul Ain, who had been missing since January 12, 2004, was found in the drawing room of Zubair's house located at Sir Syed Chowk, Rawalpindi.

The Supreme Court, taking suo-motu notice of Noor's father Syed Qamar Abbas's application on October 19, 2007, had directed the Punjab inspector general of police (IGP) to investigate the matter. The IGP had appointed DPO Attock, Tariq Hanif Joyia head of the investigation team.

The bench expressed satisfaction over progress in the case and lauded the efforts of the investigation team.

The three-member bench of the Supreme Court directed New Town DSP to appear before court on Tuesday and brief it on progress in submission of challans against both the suspects.

The bench also directed city police officer to provide complete security and protection to the deceased TV actor's family. Noor's mother had told the court that Waseem's family was threatening them.
