| Benazirs death entails Musharrafs Misfortune. |

Benazir’s death altogether changed the political dynamics of Pakistani politics. PPP, owing mainly to sympathy votes, became a leading party and an alleged criminal became king maker.
An inept cowardly run away politician, by playing victim card, became prominent once again, and secured the second place.
Self proclaimed stalwarts pushed down to relegated third rank. And above all, the king of the kings, who is now facing three Kingmakers: Altaf, Zardari and Nawaz is left with clipped wings with a strong possibility of his ouster.
The core question here would, however would be. Were the people of Pakistan really so opposed to Musharraf’s military rule that they opted for criminals, who had already been tested twice, or that they really did not have a choice and were forced to choose, the only available, plunderers of the country‘s wealth? The low turn out points to some rationale in this regard. A thorough investigation and analysis is required to find the real answers.
Few things however are yet comforting; the emergence of few new faces, participation/election of women in the process and the removal of self-professed stalwarts-who were in no way different from all the others, seized on the opportunity when Musharraf needed some artificial support.
Well! What can anyone do? Let us accept the verdict rendered by the people of Pakistan and,
Let us pray to God for the best out of the worst.Next stage is the selection of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Chudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s hopes are dashed forever.
Zardari stands out; although he announced that, he is not seeking the Primeministerial position, only time would reveal the real motive. He would, in my opinion, certainly manipulate to become one because that would emancipate and absolve him of his previous alleged crimes and also award a license to plunder the country and its people once more. Let us keep our fingers crossed.
Imran Khan! Got to be a joke. He is absolutely unfit and incapable even to handle his own party. The business of international diplomacy is too big a shoe for him to wear, despite the fact that he is not marred with corruption and is a patriotic Pakistani. He is a much better cricketer and philanthropist than a politician.
Amin Fahim? He needs to learn how to manage his mustaches without Khizab. He is best suited to his ancestral Piri Muridi business and should be consigned to the grave of Benazir, which would allow him to keep his political loyalty intact as well.
We need some one well versed, well groomed, highly intelligent and well aware of the dynamics of the fast changing world. We need some one presentable who would add to the grace and stature of Pakistan at international forums and platforms.
Who could that be? I would leave that to the people of Pakistan.
Two more things I would like to touch upon.
A. Q. Khan’s name is being coined to replace Musharraf as President. It sounds very patriotic thought with emotionally charged mindset, but rational thinking would not provide any merit for such an idea; given the peculiar circumstances and position of our country. If ever actualized would entail dire consequences for Pakistan. Let him remain a Hero and do not push him down the slope where he might end up as Zero.
Judiciary restoration is also being talked about, which basically revolves around one person and that is CJ Ch: Iftekhar. I do not know if the fate of Democracy hinges on his restoration or else it would be doomed? In my opinion, it is a matter of point scoring for Nawaz Sharif, and face saving for CJ, therefore the best course, provided it is legally possible, would be to reinstate him and retire him with honor at the same time; granting him all the privileges as a retired CJ.
I however do agree with the proposition furthered by Zardari that Judiciary, along with the Permanent Election Commission, should be made totally independent Institution. Judges could be called in for (Questioning) hearing by the Parliament if there is any misconduct or a major issue of National Security being considered. The appointments should also be confirmed by the Parliament on the basis of merit, eligibility and track record as in the USA.
The best course for President Musharraf, once the government is formed, would be to resign honorably as his necessity as President seems exhausted.
He looked fake and fragile, I never saw him so vulnerable ever before, while granting an audience to the American delegation; composed of Senator John Kerry, Joe Biden and Chuck Hagel. They looked arrogantly confident whereas he was looking very week and timid. His fragility was clearly evident from his body language. It looked as if President Musharraf, was trying unsuccessfully to convey, that I am still the President. Whereas their body language was ridiculing and defying him by conveying, NO your are not, you are one of the pawns, a long queue of whom stands outside our doors waiting to be called in, You are a spent force, your own people finished the task which we could not even half way; weakened you to the point of elimination.
In the end, despite all that, I would like to acknowledge that Musharraf did several good things for the country, which should not be forgotten, and he should be given the credit for those. He also committed blunders such as removal of the CJ, Playing in the hands of the outsiders, especially US, writing off the debts of the scoundrels, Allowing Benazir and Sharif to take part in electoral process, waging war in tribal areas on behalf of US, Lal Masjid delayed Operation, Overly aggressive soft paddling with India, coming very hard on the media, though I do agree with his point of view as for as the media’s negative and biased approach is concerned, and yet the biggest sin he committed was allowing corrupt politicians around him and listening to them. HE is paying the price for all those missteps. He, along with all those who have ruled the country so far, should be grateful to the people of Pakistan who are graciously sharing in the collective punishment and repayment incurred due to the missteps.
Hamid Mir, and I believe Dr Shahid also of Geo T.V, are the latest casualties of Musharraf’s Government which cannot be described anyway but despicable. It is simply abominable. (At the time of posting this piece, I saw Hamid Mir back on the show. Many congratulations to him)
I would have not felt so bad if it was Kamran Khan, who is openly instigative. He tried to aggravate the situation during lawyer’s agitations, asking the opposition leader “what have you been doing so far, why people are not on the streets yet?” He also tried to put the words in the mouth of the Lady who recently wrote a book about military spending. She however, was intelligent enough and refused to take his bait. His ass should have been fired, but not now, because he is Haji and God would deal with him justly.
ARY, however, need be checked for its pro India policies and two of its hosts turning into devil’s advocate, One of them being even Anti Pakistan. They are Mr. Aniq Ahmed, who is simply biased and an anchor ought to stay neutral. The most dangerous however is Sheryar Based in USA, who hosts program “Forum”
He belongs to the Aligarian camp; that was against the partition of India and has not accepted the Mumlakat e Khuda dad-Pakistan, and always conspire against it. ARY chooses airing the wrong programs at the wrong time, like airing the program against the two-nation theory just before 14 August 2006, and pushing the anti Pakistan point of views unsuspectingly to the viewers. He always brings the guests who are either secular-modernist and push their lunatic unsubstantiated point of views or those who are against the creation of Pakistan.
The concerns I am raising here are not just because I do not like ARY or Sheheryar but are based on very close observation and communicating my concerns to both of them. I had several exchanges of e mails especially with Sheheryar on the issue. I also took up the issue with Kamran Khan, who never had the courage to answer me back. People and Government of Pakistan need to monitor ARY very closely. ARY is facilitating Indian (vulgar) Cultural invasion on Pakistan for few pennies, like Banya and Memon would do any thing for money (off course not all Memon).
People of Pakistan need to be very careful as we have enemies inside and outside and any lapse could be fatal for the survival of the country.
Now a days every one is talking about the co-operation between PPP and PML(N) and (ANP). I sincerely wish it were not a gang of robbers conspiring to rob the country again. I however, would like to remain optimistic, despite the fact that it is very unlikely for this “All-Good” situation to prevail for long, new Government to succeed; thinking that the 1/3rd of the new elected members would bring a fresh perspective into the Pakistani politics, which would usher thinking for the country and its people. Pakistan thus, for the very first time, would become a state governed by the patriotic and God fearing elected members who would be worried about establishing themselves for the future leadership of a rich, developed, Nuclear Islamic core state, and not that of a Banana republic; which old parasitical Politicians had made of Pakistan.
The new Government should be pressed for Neutrality, freedom from the West. Political whores have already started slipping their Shalwars down, sending seductive signals to the western suitors and have secured a promised “Bonus-Aid-Package”.When countered by the media anchors on positive aspects for governance and politics, every one says he had said that before Many times so absolve themselves of all the misdeeds and plundering (It seems like we, the people, were stupid and dumb could not hear these Moazzins calling for Prayer).
Corruption, Nepotism, favoritism, impotency should not be tolerated at any cost; No one would do that for us. We all have to be vigilant. We need to form watchdog Organizations, and Participate in those who are already there.
We should pull back a bit from the CBMs with India until they learn how to reciprocate and accept, hands down, our superiority as a Nation. We should not rush to solve the problem of Kashmir. It is not hurting us now as much as it is to India, who is dreaming of becoming a regional super power. China and Pakistan are the only two countries who can wake her up from dreaming to the reality of equal co existence.
I have very strong conviction that as long as the youngster of Pakistan is awake, passionate about Pakistan and Islam no one would be able to harm Pakistan.
Our Priorities, I believe, should be in this order:
My faith, My country, My family.
God bless Pakistan.
