ATTOCK: All necessary arrangements including setting up of polling stations have been finalised by the Election Commission aimed at conducting the upcoming general elections on February 18 in a peaceful manner for three national and five provincial assembly constituencies of district Attock.
According to the details, up to 1510 polling stations have been established including 374 polling stations for male and 350 for female voters while 786 polling stations will cater to the needs of both male and female voters.
A total of 7706 presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers will conduct the elections.
Sources in Election Commission office Attock told APP that total of 854863 voters will use their right of vote.
According to the break up, total voters for NA-57 constituency are 2,75,468, for NA-58 3,15,556 and for NA-59 total voters are 2,63,849 while for provincial assembly seats, total voters for PA-15 are 1,53,030, for PA-16 1,50,816, for PA-17 1,86,301, for PA-18 1,97,730 and for PA-19 1,68,131.
According to 1998 census total population of district Attock is 12,74,935. The district consists of 72 union councils and six tehsils including Attock, Hazro, Hassanabdal, Fatehjang, Pindigheb and Jand.
