Wheeling-dealing of Main Stream Political Parties with Military Rulers
Leaders of main stream political parties and military rulers have compromised deals among them on a 'give and take basis' to hijack lawyers' movement for a strong independent judiciary and end of military rule for ever. According to deals, there will be no boycott of upcoming elections. And these parties will participate in elections to legitimize all illegal and un-constitutional actions of Gen Musharraf including his election as president. Candidates of these parties will win seats what may come and coalition government be formed with Gen Musharraf as president. All leaders whom Gen Musharaf termed as traitors and corrupt will be indemnified against their criminal cases of grafting and corruption. Therefore the statements regarding issue of 4 days ultimatum to government for restoring pre November 3 conditions, otherwise they would boycott elections, made by politicians like Raja Zafulhaq are un-believable. In fact these statements are meant to deceive public in general and lawyers in particular. These leaders are all set to ignore the call of lawyers for boycotting elections. They are failing to realize that without a strong and independent judiciary Pakistan will forever be at the mercy of military dictators and power-hungry politicians. At the same time they should not forget that lawyers and judges had given unprecedented sacrifices in history of our country. It was their movement that compelled military dictator to approach politicians in exile and requested them to make deals with him. Before the movement they were leading ignominious life. Now they are again with full of life and vigor and that is because of lawyers and judges sacrifices. Therefore they are urged to boycott upcoming elections and support lawyers for achieving their just and legitimate objectives. Their correct and in time action will change the fate of our nation and usher a new era. Media is also requested to play their part to convince the politicians that boycott of elections will bring an end to military rule instead of supporting view point of political leaders keen to participate in elections to share power with military rulers through deals. Support to lawyers will reward us all with better future and stable democratic Pakistan.
