Addressing oath-taking ceremony of interim government set-up, Gen Musharraf declared the transition of power as the "most-harmonious" in the country's history. At the same occasion, newly appointed interim PM Soomro said that he would preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This ceremony and transition of power took place when judiciary in the country has been completely crippled down, constitution is held in abeyance, and country is ruled by PCO with imposition of emergency. Private TV channels like Geo and ARY are closed down. Thousands of lawyers, political workers are under illegal detention in jails. Under such a scenario one fails to understand statements made by the General and Interim PM. When there is no constitution then how PM will defend it? When there is no judicial system on ground, how human affairs will be regulated? It is all farce and black-mailing people of Pakistan in the name of democracy.
