BB unaware of ground realities
ATTOCK: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairwoman Benazir Bhutto is unaware of the political ground realities in Pakistan, Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi said on Sunday.
He was addressing a public meeting at Fateh Jhang, Attock district. He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) would defeat the PPP in the general elections.
He said Benazir was creating an impression that the international community supported her. He said the people knew that she had said nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan would be handed over to international agencies and foreign troops
would be allowed to operate in Pakistan. He told people that the government would set up an industrial estate on 100 acres of land in the district.
The CM inaugurated a Rs 380 million project of 10-kilometre highway from Qutba Chowk to Attock. He also laid down the foundation stone of a public park in Fateh Jhang.
Elahi thanked General Pervez Musharraf for announcing that the general elections would be held by January 9. Attock district nazim Maj (r) Tahir Sadiq, Provincial Ministers Col (r) Shuja Khanzada, Col (r) Mohammad Anwer, Senator Sardar Mahmood Khan, Members of Provincial Assemblies Sardar Mohammad Ali, Pir Abbas Mohiud Din, Ejaz Bukhari, Attock district PML-Q president Sardar Mumtaz and Fateh Jhang tehsil nazim Zaheer Afzal were also present on the occasion. Earlier, the CM visited the Aero-Nautical Complex in Kamra. He was taken to various sections of the aircraft re-building factories.
