Rear Admiral Tahir Waseem and brother laid to rest with full military honors

The funeral ceremony was attended by thousand of mournful citizens and all the high-ranking officers of three services chiefs.

Prominent among the mourners included, acting chief of Naval staff Vice Admiral Asif Humayun, DG, IPD, Lt. Gen Kidwai, DG Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra, Air Vice Marshall Javed Chaudhry, former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Yastoor-Ul-Haq Malik, DG, AYC, Fareed Iqbal Malik, Vice Admiral Saleem Miani, and others.

The coffin of the deceased Vice admiral was wrapped with a Pakistani flag, and included all the medals and prizes awarded to him during his course of career, and were buried alongside his dead brother, with full military honors, by army contingents. 

Smart and alert contingent of Pakistan Army presented a guard of honor and laid floral wreaths over the graves, followed by more flower wreaths by various officers and citizens.

The Qul of the deceased brothers would be offered today, Tuesday at their third brother’s residence in Attock.

Living away from Pakistan for the last 20 years doesn't help much. One thing I have learnt in life is that life is too short, any thing can happen at any time so be prepared. Also, only our good deeds and good memories stay once we are gone.     I spoke to Khalid mamu and Arshad mamu couple of days back. May Allah bless them with paradise. The most sad incident caused the loss of the country and the shining officer in Pakistan Navy Rear Admiral Tahir Waseem left us. Furthermore during this road accident, the elder brother (Amjad Saeed) of Tahir Waseem also passed away. Both brothers are my uncles and i wished to be there at the time of funeral but i could not be there due to living abroad.
