Some of us may consider it as far-fetched, but it may be worth pondering upon the following.
It's so unfortunate, that the rampant violence in Pakistan has made us so numb to suicide and bomb blasts, the blasts in the PPP rally come neither as shocking, nor surprising.
It's also not shocking, because these twin blasts will have immense political repercussions that will unwind and become transparent in the near future. Neither the motives, nor the benefits from this tragedy should be hard to speculate. All we have to do is, think who will benefit the most from it?
Even though most of the casualties are sustained by the PPP workers, but in a sick ironic twist, the fruits from this tragedy will also be reaped mostly by the PPP. If nothing else, now it has gotten the trump-card of victimization.
Another party heavily invested and has a lot of interest in a destabilized Pakistan is obviously, the US. A destabilized and politically weakened Pakistan will conveniently play as puppet whose strings will be securely in the hands of the US, through its proxies of Musharraf and Benazir, ala the Dream-Team.
Then comes the real motivation behind the proxy-Pakistan. It's none other than Iran! Conduct surgical attacks on Iranian interests, topple its current government, install a pro-American government, and guess what, 70% of planet’s proven and deliverable oil/energy-supplies would be in the hands of a very elite-club, mainly based in the US.
As a fringe benefit, a strategically placed Pakistani-proxy on the crossroads of Asia will play an instrumental role in strategically encircling and containing China. Her shortcut to the blue-waters of Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf would be curtailed. And Russians will be kept at bay by further isolating their access to the warm waters and the Middle-East through the friendly Iran. New pipelines from the landlocked Central Asian (ex-Soviet) States will crisscross the Iranian landscape. There will be no longer a need to pamper Turkey for its role of transit of oil pipelines. Russia will no longer be able to threaten to destabilize the oil prices, because it controls the largest oil pipelines from the Central Asian states. That will also solve the nascent problem of Chechnya.
Once the energy supplies will be in the hands of the elite-club, the control of oil supplies and prices would become a child's play. Energy supplies are the hydrogen-bomb of the future. It will be the future’s carrot and stick. Whoever will control it will control the world trade, and the stock markets.
The days of nationalism and imperialism are long gone. The days of religious superiority are long gone. The future belongs to the corporations and globalization. It may not be obvious to most of us, but the corporations have already taken a life of their own and humans have been reduced to playing as petty-slaves to them.
Dozens of casualties of the PPP workers is nothing more than a collateral damage to sooth the ferocious appetite of the corporations.
Is it a mystery why Osama bin Laden is still at large, even though we have been told for the last 6 years that he is hiding in a 5 square miles area on the Afghani-Pakistani border? To some, it's not a mystery, because it serves the powers-to-be to play a bogeyman for all his worth. What we are witnessing is only a small part of ‘The Greatest Game’.
