ATTOCK: Special Police Deputy Inspector General Amroz Nasir Khan Durrani on Wednesday ordered the Attock district police officer to constitute a joint police and public committee to curb corruption and fear of police personnel among people.

He said the committee members should be respected members of the society, adding that the committee would have to be authorised to monitor police officials and to ensure that they were not harming the general public.

He said the committee’s function would be to investigate issues and conduct departmental enquiries if any police officer was found guilty of corruption or any other crime.
