Ex-Army officer gunned down: FATEH JANG
FATEH JANG: Brig (retd) Masood Islam, project director of the new Islamabad airport, was gunned down in mysterious circumstances at his site office in Pind Ranjha on Fateh Jang Road on Tuesday, police said. Islam was sitting in his site office – set up in a container – when an unknown gunman shot him in the presence of other employees at about 1130 hours before
fleeing towards the fields behind the site office, the police quoting witnesses said. The police said that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries near Tarnol. The preliminary medico-legal report said that a bullet had pierced into his chest, rupturing his lungs and heart, the police said.
