6 Motorways will be constructed till next 5 years
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister for telecommunication Shamim Siddiqui told the National Assembly on Friday hat about 6 Motorways and Expressways will be constructed till next 5 years which will cost Rs. 520 billion.
According to the details, he told the National Assembly during the question hour that the opposition is creating hurdles in the construction of Karachi Liari Expressway by not allowing removing the encroachments from the road.
He further told that 184 km Faisalabad to Khanaywal road will be completed till September 2011, 100 km Wazirabad to Pindi Bhattian road will be constructed till June 2012, 100 km Khanaywal to Lodhran road will be constructed till June 2012, 51 km Peshawar to Toor road will be constructed till June 2011, 96 km Hassan Abdal to Mansehra road will be constructed till December 2012, 136 km Karachi to Hyderabad Motorway will b constructed till June 2009 while Peshawar to Karachi highway will also completed till 2012.
He said that the construction work of several roads and highways is in progress. He told that the all these roads will cost Rs. 520 billion which is a huge amount. These roads will not only reduce the traveling distance but also the amount of money spent on petrol.
While answering a question about the obstacles of Liari Expressway, he said that they are paying the huge amount to the affectees of the expressway but the opposition is advising the affectees not to give us the land so that the government would increase the reward.
We have paid Rs. 110 million to a Mosque but the still the Mosque administration went into the court against us. He said that the Islamabad-Peshawar road will be constructed till this coming December.
