| Boys outsmart girls by securing top positions in all groups |

The female candidates gave better performance as their overall result was 76% while for male students it was 60%. However, male candidates obtained top two positions, besides securing first slots in all groups.
In all, 40,985 candidates appeared in the examination. Out of whom, 28,781 passed all subjects. The candidates who passed all subjects include 9,564 male and 19,217 female candidates.
Muhammad Omer Zahid (roll number 723876) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, secured overall first position by obtaining 990 marks out of 1,100. Muhammad Bilal Akhtar (roll number 702530) of Cadet College Hassanabdal stood second with 974 marks. Mawra Masud (roll number 700076) of Community Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Pindigheb (Attock), was third with 973 marks.
Omer Zahid appeared in pre-engineering group, while candidates who obtained second and third positions belonged to pre-medical group. In pre-medical group (boys), first three slots were grabbed by Cadet College Hassanabdal. Muhammad Bilal Akhtar was followed by Tanveer Abbas (roll number 702502) with 965 marks and Khalid Nawaz Bajwa (roll number 702531) with 955 marks. In pre-medical group (girls), students of Community Model Girls Higher Secondary School from a backward tehsil -- Pindigheb (Attock) -- got first three positions. Mawra Masud who was also overall third was followed by Amna Masud (roll number 700075) with 965 marks. The third position was jointly held by Gul-e-Hina (roll number 700081) and Maleeha Anwar (roll number 700095). Both of them obtained 956 marks.
In pre-engineering group (boys), Muhammad Omer Zahid (990 marks) was on top. He was followed by Muhammad Muneeb Zafar (roll number 702590) of Cadet College Hassanabdal with 967 and Faizan Ahmad Qureshi (roll number 702586) also from the same academic institution getting third position with 962 marks.
The girl students were far behind in pre-engineering group. Bushra Nawaz (roll number 703546) of District Public Girls Higher Secondary School, Chakwal, secured first position with 917 marks. Annum Mushtaq (roll number 717093) of Government Degree College for Women, Zafarul Haq Road, Rawalpindi, was second with 913 marks. Anum Naseem (roll number 714781) was third with 901 marks.
In science general group (boys), Owais Saleem (roll number 724034) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Rawalpindi, was on top with 920 marks. Haris Adil (roll number 719662) of Lawrence College, Ghora Gali, Murree, got 908 marks and secured second position. Muhammad Bilal Arshad (roll number 723960) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Rawalpindi, secured 904 marks for third position.
In science general group (girls), Nosheen Aziz (roll number 701276) of Government Girls Inter College, Fatehjang (Attock) obtained 898 marks for first position. She was followed by Misbah Gul Faraz (roll number 708216) of Community Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Saeela (Jhelum) 882 marks and Sidra Ali (roll number 717379) of Government College for Women, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, 878 marks.
In commerce group, Syed Ali Amjad (roll number 720500) of Punjab College of Information Technology, Rawalpindi, was first with 901 marks. Syed Sabihul Hassan Bokhari (roll number 720550) of the same college got 874, while Abdur Rahman Munir (roll number 719764) of Rawalpindi College of Commerce, Saidpur Road, Rawalpindi, obtained 869 marks.
In humanities group (boys), Ali Ahmad (roll number 740499) of Jamia Masjid, Model Town Humak, was first with 911 marks. Muhammad Irfan (roll number 740509) who appeared as a private candidate was far behind with 833 while another private candidate Muhammad Asif from Rawalpindi got 830 marks.
The humanities group (girls) was led by Salma Riaz (roll number 703748) who hails from VIP Girls Inter College, Dodial, Chakwal, securing 885 marks. Aisha Siddiqa (roll number 734954), a private student from Tehsil Gujar Khan, Rawalpindi, got 881 and Humaira Yasmin (roll number 703747) also from VIP Girls Inter College Dodial, Chakwal, obtained 879 marks.
Fatima Jinnah Women University Vice Chancellor Professor Saadia Saadullah, who was chief guest on the occasion, distributed medals and certificates among position-holders.
