In 2003 it was expected that in future approximately US$60 million would be spent on call centers throughout this world.

If we make a search in any search engine at Internet “Call centers in India” we have more than 200 meaningful results, but for Pakistan we have only few.16000 persons of India are employed in call center industry of USA at India.

My main objective is to point out a question that “Why we have less call centers in Pakistan”. In Pakistan we have many extremely fluent English speaker and most of them are computer illiterate. Pakistani government should create such an atmosphere that the investors of other countries come in Pakistan and invest some handsome amount for call centers.

What is a call center?
“A call center is a place where we can make some transactions electronically on behalf of a firm that is situated abroad.”  Usually these firms are in developed countries and their call centers are in developing countries because in developing countries these countries get skilled but cheaper labor, so at this movement Pakistan is also developing country and Pakistan has also skilled persons.

Although Pakistan has skilled persons but we has less call centers than our neighbor. Why?
The opportunities are not publicized; bandwidth in Pakistan is not subsidized it must be affordable;  we dose not have infrastructure (voice over IP) network, which is used in call centers, now a days two mobile companies has a contract with Huawei for such a network.

What we need to made a call centers?
Normally a call center consist on a computer and a head set, that computer is connect with a global switch through which  it is connected with other call centers and main office and can receive calls and made transactions.

In future call centers in Pakistan may increase in number if our government and elated ministries pay attention on it.
