Nasir Durrani appointed
Nasir Khan Durrani, a prominent PSP officer, has been appointed Additional Inspector General of Police, Rawalpindi Range, a notification issued by the establishment division said. He would act as Regional Police Officer (RPO) of the Rawalpindi Range which included Chakwal, Attock and Jehlum.
While, District Police Officer (DPO) Rawalpindi Saud Aziz has been transferred as Regional Police Officer Gujranwala after the notification of his promotion as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). He will supervise four districts - Sialkot, Narowaal, Hafizabad and Mandi Baha-ud-Din.
Whereas, Morevat Ali Shah who was RPO of Rawalpindi Range included all four districts - Rawalpindi, Jehlum, Chakwal and Attock - of the Range, has been appointed City Police Officer (CPO) of Rawalpindi District under the Police Order 2002.
Morevat Ali Shah was the serving DPO and DIG for the last over five years. Nasir Khan Durrani had been SSP Islamabad for over three years. During his tenure, he introduced Rescue-15 and Public Conciliatory Committee (PCC) at every police station of Islamabad as part of restorative justice to resolve petty disputes at the police station level without involving the police resources for trivial matters.
Durrani has commanded various rural and urban districts of Punjab but he was specially known for creating friendly policing ecology in the federal capital Islamabad. Another initiative by the officer was the establishment of modern reporting rooms at the police stations.
Durrani established the Rescue-15 for the first time in the history of Pakistan police when he was SSP Sialkot after which, the concept gained acceptability and popularity in the police system as well the and the community. This concept was replicated in various cities of the all four provinces.
