Since the past five years, the city administration of Attock has been promising to transform Attock city into a ‘Paris of Pakistan’. As of now, the city roads are in shambles and need immediate repairs. Widespread encroachments, poor sanitation and overflowing gutters are a permanent eye sore for the people here. Pedestrians have to wade through a sea of filth to get from one place to another. The entire city, comprising of four to six major roads, gives a shabby look. There is no check by the city staff and the higher echelon of governance is satisfied with the mediocre reports of their subordinates. The word ‘monitoring’ does not appear in the charter of duties of the Municipal Staff. The Meena Bazaar consists of a number of alleys where ladies go to shop regularly; motorcyclists drive at full speed through these alleys without being checked and punished by the police.
I suggest that Attock city authorities stop fooling the public with deceptive slogans such as ‘Attock-the Paris of Pakistan’ and focus on improving the infrastructure of the city.

Attock
I wonder why we use this nasty anglicized spelling of 'Attock' instead of writing it simply as 'Atak'.

Attock Paris or Fish Market
Down Town, area in Baladiya Supervision is worst and no one care for it. Garbage dumps scattered everywhere, Perish veg, and fruit disposed by shops lying here and there smelling and spreading deseases, No cleaner staff, no sweeper. If see baladiya budget its a huge one, but where does the money goes. Where is District Nazim, he does not look all on net or no one reminds him. Where are Parlimentarians. If they can not look after so small city, how they will look after a big one.
All four roads around Chowk Fowara have been so cruely encroached and occupied that it is difficult to drive even a small car there. All streets around Meena Bazar and Jama Msjid have been encroaced, as these are property of All surrounding shop keepers. Qabza Group and Mafiya behind them working as this all is their forefathers property. Where is Govt. Where are teh Govt. representatives, how they are looking Govt writ is being challenged every step. Actually there is no law and order. law only for poor and helpless and not for MAFIA. Get up Distt, Nazim and Parlimentarians, and see what is happening. Tomorrow you will be answerable to God Almighty.

Advice
Mr. Sadiq has again drawn the attention of city Nazim and other responsible for the maintenance and care of this town. In fact, the word "monitoring" does not exist in the mind of Nazim or other authorities of Attock City. The whole city consists of a few major roads. These can be looked after in the best possible way to make the town look clean for the nativesand visitors.

Attock City - the most smelly town
I appreciate the frank and honest views of Muhammad Afzal Sadiq about Attock City. I was born in Campbell Pur (former name of Attock City). I studied in this town. During my childhood this town was a true picture of a small and clean city. All the roads and streets were at right angles to each other. After rain the town used to be like a fresh flower with desert like sand.
The Attock City of my childhood is now the most smelly and dirty town. If and when I visit the town, I return with extremely sad feelings about the management of this town and to some extent the residents of this town who could not transfer this town into a model city.

Very well said. Now we have to awake and make public aware of the reality.
