Attock: Lauding the media's role in the prevailing judicial crisis in the country, cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has said that the combination of media and lawyers has left President General Pervez Musharraf "helpless".Addressing the District Bar Association in Attock, the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief said, "The symbolic combination of media and lawyers has made General Musharraf completely helpless".
Referring to the May 12 Karachi violence, Imran said that there was no future for any political party that believes in violence.
"Altaf Hussain (the MQM's London-based leader) and his cronies are promoting the politics of violence but they should know that parties believing in violence have no future," the Dawn quoted him as saying.
The MQM showed the victims as its workers, but was exposed by the electronic media, he added
He said that if lawyers, democratic forces and civil society won the ongoing battle against the government, then Pakistan could achieve its potential through a democratic system.
Imran went on to say that no power could stop the ongoing movement against the military dictatorship.
He reaffirmed that he would go to London on June 9 to file a case against Altaf Hussain, adding that he would seek the MQM leader's extradition and cancellation of his British nationality.
There were 17 murder cases against Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan and over 67 cases against Sindh's Interior Minister, Imran claimed.
