Education, power sectors top priority of dist govt: Nazim
ATTOCK: Zila Nazim Attock Major (r) Tahir Sadik has said that the district government was giving top priority to the development of district Attock specially in provision of education, electricity and communications facilities to the people of the area. This, he said, while addressing a big public meeting at People's Colony Attock after inauguration upgradation of Girls Elementary School here Wednesday. Senator Sardar Mehmood Khan, president City Muslim League Attock Sardar Mumtaz Khan, President City Muslim League Women Wing Mrs. Jaffary, Tehsil Nazim Pindigheb Malik Liaqat Ali Khan, Media Advisor to zila Nazim Tanzeem Iqbal Pashee, Haji Malik Muhammad Akram Khan, Naib Tehsil Nazim Attock Sh. Mehmud Illahi, Councillors, workers of PML and elite of the area were also present on the occasion. He said during the last five years as district nazim no one can point out any corruption charges against him as he served the masses sincerely and devotedly and has launched a number of development schemes for the progress and prosperity in the area. The function was organized by Union Nazim Malik Tahir Awan. Zila Nazim said that district government has so far upgraded 182 schools which speaks the interest of the government for Education and now all our efforts are focused to provide electricity to the remaining villages. Zila Nazim refuted the allegations of corruption levelled against him during the local bodies elections and said that now time has come to answer these allegations by those who themselves involved in corruption. He said these so called leaders remained in power since the creation of Pakistan but they deliberately kept Attock backward and done nothing for its development. He asked the people to compare his performance with others as he launched record number of projects in the district to bring it at par with other developed parts of the area. Zila Nazim announced that all other Abadies of the Attock city will be provided electricity and natural gas. He also announced the establishment of new Girls Primary School at Awan Sharif. Earlier Nazim UC Attock Malik Tahir Awan in his welcome address thanked him for launching various development projects in his area and assured him of full support of the people.
