I repeat the relevant stanza of the National Anthem of Pakistan in English hereunder:
"The order of this sacred land
Is the might of the brotherhood of the People
May the nation, the country, and the state
Shine in glory everlasting"
It sets the aspirations of the nation so vividly. But the problem unfortunately is that we are yet not sure to which nation we belong - Muslim nation of Two-nation Theory which aspired for and created Pakistan or just a nation confined in the land included in the erstwhile 'West-Pakistan' of Quide's Pakistan'. This is the political dilemma which we have failed to solve with the result that the nation's political will and might went to the background and the military adventurism getting the upper hand occupied the Pakiland just like a real estate owned by the army in the name of defence of Pakistan. So this will go on till the might is met by might again.
What can we do now except to bewail in the words of Faiz:
"Ham jo taarik raahon mein maare gaey"
