Election Coverage: NA-57 Attock I 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
NA-57 Attock –I
Attock Tehsil excluding the following:
(i) Ghourghasti Town Committee;
(ii) Ghourghasti Qanungo Halqa of Attock District.

There are three strong Biradaries in Attock District. These are the Khatars, the Awana, and the Sheikhs. Among these, the Khatar Biradari is strong and it has about 20,000 to 25,000 votes in NA 57. The second strongest Biradari of the district is the Sheiks, whose strength is about 18,000 to 20,000, and the third Awan Biradari has about 10,000 to 13,000 votes. Since 1990, the NA-57 seat has been won by the PML (N)’s Sheik Aftab Ahmed who is a friend of Nawaz Sharif. In 1988, however, this seat was won by Malik Muhammad Aslam Khan.

I would like to make one correction here that Ghour Ghushti is a part of NA-57 and secondly pathans of Chahch are also the major contributors of vote besides khattar, sheikhs & awans.

Assalamualaikum wr wb,i am amazed to read here that pathans(who are deffinitely in majority) are not mensioned as a big vote in chhachh(attock).i hope calculations should be rectified before writing anything .may Allah protect the ummah from all kinds of mischeifs and turmoil and give us tofeeq to vote for islamic shariah council who then establish the law of Qur'aan and authentic Sunnah in Pakistan--aameen.PS: SHARIAH LAW CONSISTS OF QUR'AAN AND SUNNAH ONLY NOTHING ELSE WHATSOEVER.

Well the situation in all attock is very strange as compared to the other places.
The important point being is that PML(Q) has got 3 contestants in three constituencIEs , They all are from Gujrat ave gt Ch Pervaiz elahi contesting from ATTOCK, ANd eman Waseem and Waseem Gulzar , they are all Interrelated ,

The situation now is that In Attock 2 is that PmlQ didn't gve the ticket to Sardar Mumtaz Which has spent nearly rs 400 million(yes thats true) from the date he has entered into the politics, Roughly 8 years ago when he returned from States.
So sardar mumtaz has joined PML(N) now and he will be contetsing in the Provincial Assembly , and this is a big set back to PMl(Q)

Another candidate from Attock 1 , Malik amin aslam has resigned from PML(Q) and will be contesting the election independentaly.
The reason being is that Eman Waseem is daughter of The Distt Nazim of attock Maj (r) Tahir sadiq and he is brother in law to chaudhry's, was contesting the election independentaly , so in taht case there was no point for Malik amin aslam to contest for the election, so he resigned and now Eman waseem will be contesting at pml(q) and the facts and figures don't show that pml(Q) will get any seat from the three constituencies of ATTock

I will keep you posted of any latest which i get
Thanks
SACHAL AHMED

I wonder why the Sayyad family of Atak has also been ignored. It is no doubt a numerical minority but has a political force to reckon with. The very fact that the PPPP has awarded ticket to Syed Azmat Bokhari and the PML(Q) to Ijaz Hussain Bokhari goes to prove the worth of the Biradari in Atak politics.

It may be mentioned here that in the general Elections of 1977, Syed Zahid Hussain Bokhari had fought general election on Atak seat against Mr. Shoukat belonging to Khattar Biradari on the ticket of PMA and had got sizable votes but lost perhaps due only to alleged rigging.

Is Eeman Waseem, a candidate on NA Atak seat, the same lady who had sold her seat in the previous assembly to a nincompoop like Shoukat Aziz and had thus deprived the Atakies of trust in her for their representation in the NA, which resulted in the delay of projects like Akhori and Kala Baagh Dams and consequential load shedding resulting from the latter's performance in awarding electric connections on political basis?
