talawat You claim that Punjabi is a proper language but you know what the so- called 'Ahle-zabaan' say about it. While discussing different languages a well-educated Urdu-speaking friend of mine remarked about Punjabi which I quote hereunder in his language:

"Punjabi bhi koi zaban he yih to bas gaalian hein"

Thereupon I said,"Do you think Punjabies are 'be-zabaan dangar?"

Now I see Faraz showing the same language-schovinism which the Arabs showed when they called the Non-Arab world as 'Ajmi', meaning 'Dumb cattle', without any 'proper' language.
talawat I am of the view that the sweetness of any language depends on the person who speaks that languge as Ghalib had said:

"Kitne sheeriin hein tere lab kih raqiib
Gaaliaan kha ke bhi be maza nah huaa"

As for whether Hindku can be called Punjabi, I am of the view that Hindko is definitely Punjabi only with a different dialect from the Punjabi of the Central Punjab.

Here I would relate an episode with one of the greatest Punjabi writers, Najam Hussain Syed, who happened to be a senior officer of mine. One day his P.A. who belonged to Qassoor brought Syed's book, Saaraan, and said,"Please look this book which I cannot understand as it is written in your language (Hindko)". I saw the book and was surprised to see that it's language was more Hindkish Punjabi than that of Central Punjabi". I went straight to Shah Sahib and asked him whereto he belonged. He told me that he belonged to Hoshiarpur. Thereupon I asked him how he learnt this language then. He told me that this language (Hinko) is the the real literary Punjabi which he had learnt by study.
faraz lol don't even think of comparing Punjabi with Hindko lol Punjabi is a proper language LOL
madhia feroz I dont think so mera khiyal hay sari languages sweet
muskan.waleed HINDKO" language is spoken by people in the North of Pakistan mainly, i.e Attock, Texila, Hazara , Peshawar, Nowshehra, Dera Ismail Khan, Swabi, Banu, and many other places

We can not say Hindko is same as PUNJABI

Chach, area between Attock and Hazara, people speak Hindko
These peopke have ancesteral links to Afghanistan ,NWFP

Hindko) is no where near like the punjabi spoken in Central Punjab and Indian Punjab.
Hindko has punjabi words in it, it also has Urdu, Persian, and Pukhtho!!!! So its not Punjabi,

we always hear Punjabis saying that Hindko sounds quite sweet even though they can hardly understand it!
