A couple of places have opened up seeling the famous Peshawar Chappal kebab in England. I have tried 3 of the 3 places I know of.

The first place i tried was one called Chhach Valley in Girlington, Bradford. This is not the best of places to visit. Although they do give yu a very healthy portio - 3 huge pieces - of kebabs with a naan and sald for 3.50 (approx). The food is ok, filling but suprisingly the place is run by Hindko speakerss from chhachh so it does nt give it a very Pashtunified atmosphere.

The second place and by far the best and most famous is Abaseen in Girlington, Bradford. They have an even more generous serving of Kebabs, with abigger naan and salad that even tastes better than Chhachh Valley's, eve though the salds are the same. The Kebabs are a must try if you live anywhere near the North of England or visit near it. The meals are simply mouth-watering and stomach-satisfying. Even better, the waiters are mostly Pakhtuns and you get to hear chit-chat like you hear back in Peshawar. The middle-aged man who started the place has the typical kili-wal gap shap of places in peshawar and even danced a little to the Pashtu music he started playing. Must say his Khabaray had me and my friend in stitches. To top it off we had Shnay Chaiy or Kawa for those not in the know. The downside is that there are nt many seats and some people feel uncomfortable taking women in there

The third place is Oasis on Colne Road in Burnley. Another good place to eat - i the middle of Chhachh Valley and Abaseen.

I have talked about the Chappal kebabs but now I must mention the Kabuli Plilau too. On Wilmslow Road in manchester there is a take-away/cafe called Jazeera and they serve Kabuli pilau. The place is run by Afghans and ther food is good. I think their Kabuli Pilau is much better than the one served in Kabul Restaurant in Southall. It tastes much closer to the ones back in Pashtunkhwa for sure. Has any ever tried it?
