HAZRO: The death of Benazir Bhutto is not only a national loss but it is a setback for the whole world.

This was stated by JUI Central Deputy General Secretary Qari Shair Afzal Khan while talking to APP here on Monday.

He said that Benazir Bhutto was a leader of international stature and her killing is an international loss.

JAND: Trains between Peshawar, Kundian, Attock, Rawalpindi and Mianwali are plying as per routine. This was stated by Deputy Controller Trains Peshawar Division, Yousaf Khan while talking to APP here on Sunday.

He said that Railcars which included “Mari Indus Railcar” and “Mianwali Express which runs between Attock and Mari Indus and Mianwali and Rawalpidi were running as per schedule.

He said that “Khushal express” which used to run between Peshawar and Karachi, would now run between Peshawar and Dera Ghazi Khan till further orders.

The Deputy Controller added that “Awam Express” which use to run between Peshawar and Karachi has been suspended, till further orders however a “Shuttle rail Car” would run in its place between Peshawar and Rawalpindi which would leave Peshawar at 09:15 AM and reach Rawalpindi at 12:40 PM, and would again depart Rawalpindi at 02: 50 PM and reach Peshawar at 06:35 PM daily.
 
9 nomination papers for NA-58 Attock-II acceptedPDF Print E-mail

ATTOCK: As many as nine nomination papers which filed for NA-58 Attock-II seat were accepted here on Wednesday.

The nomination papers of all candidates for NA-58 Attock II seat including former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and a seat of PP-18 Attock II have been accepted by the Returning Officer after completing the process of scrutiny.

“These nomination papers were accepted after completing the scrutiny process, “ the Incharge of the Election Cell Attock told APP here.

He said that the nomination papers of all nine candidates of NA-58 Attock II including former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, ex MPA Pir Abbass Mohiuddin, Sardar Mumtaz Khan of PML, former Naib District Nazim Malik Suhail Khan (PML-N), Malik Ramzan, Malik Jameel Anwar, Muhammad Saddique Awan, Syed Abdulsalam Hasan Raza and Sardar Shahnawaz Khan (PPP) were accepted by RO Muhammad Rafique.

Similarly, the nominations of all five candidates of PP-18 Attock IV including former Tehsil Nazim Pindigheb Malik Khurram Ali Khan of PPP, Malik Asif of PML-N, former Provincial Minister Punjab Col. (Retd) Malik Muhammad Anwar PML, Muhammad Jameel Anwar and Malik Sharyar were also accepted by the RO, he added.

ATTOCK: Chairperson Pakistan People’s Party Benazir Bhutto said people have given their verdict in favour of PPP and PML-N as presence of PML-Q during the election campaign was insignificant. She said the government became afraid of this situation and imposed ban on live TV coverage of public meetings of opposition parties.

She was addressing a gathering of party workers and leaders during a brief stopover at Gondal here on main GT road on Wednesday.

She said PPP always pulled the country out of the crises and now once again country is facing serious threats due to extremism, price hike and injustice.

She pledged that if voted into power her party would extricate Pakistan out of the difficult situation.

PPP is running its election campaign with the slogan of food, clothing and shelter, she said adding PPP would ensure better health, education and job opportunities for the common man.

She said PPP wants to make Pakistan a modern, progressive and prosperous state where people enjoy a good standard of life.

Benazir said she considered Attock her second home as her spouse Asif Ali Zardari remained in Attock fort prison.

She was hopeful that people of the district would extend their massive support to the party. She asked people to put stamp on the PPP’s symbol of arrow.

A large number of leaders and party workers led by central PPP leader Malik Hakmeen Khan accorded a warm welcome to Benazir Bhutto on her arrival.

ATTOCK: The Returning Officers have issued the final lists of 41 candidates including two women for eight seats of district Attock including three national assembly and five provincial assembly seats.

According to the official sources here on Sunday, a total of 17 candidates against NA and 24 against five PP seats would contest the general election.  

All the candidates had been allotted their election symbols and the names of the candidates according to their constituencies and election symbols are as under.

NA-57 ATTOCK-I: Ex-MNA  Eman Waseem(Fan), former state minister Malik Amin Aslam (Elephant), Sheikh Aftab Ahmed(Tiger),  Syed  Azmat Ali Bukhari advocate  (Arrow), Hafiz Saeed Ahmad (Book) Qari Atiqur Rehman (Table), Muhammad Faisal Khanzada(Bus) and Syed Munirul Haq advocate (kite).

NA-58 ATTOCK-II: former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi (Bicycle), Malik Ramzan (Bus), Sardar Shahnawaz (Arrow), Malik Sohail Khan (Tiger) and Abdulsalam Hasan Raza ( Book).

NA-59 ATTOCK-III: Waseem Gullzar (Bicycle),Malik Asif Advocate (Tiger), Sardar Saleem Haidar Khan(Arrow) and Iftikhar Ahmad Khan (Scooter).

Five injured in suicide attack in AttockPDF Print E-mail

ATTOCK: Five persons including four students were injured in suicide attack at Kamra Road, here on Monday. According to the details, a bus carrying 19 students was hit by a car (Islamabad LU-731) about 7:26 a.m. driven by an alleged suicide bomber coming from Attock to Kamra.

At collision a huge explosion occurred in which four students and driver of the bus namely Naiz were seriously injured.

According to the police sources, the car was driven by a young suicide bomber of around twenty years who was killed in the incident.

Talking to APP District Coordination Officer (DCO), Abdul Razaq Malik said that the injured were rushed to the hospital where their condition is stated to be stable.

Police have cordoned off the area and are investigating.
 
Suicidal attack on PAC truck, injuring 7PDF Print E-mail

ATTOCK: Seven persons including four school students were injured in a suicidal attack at Attock-Kamra road near Fauji gate outside a defence installation of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra here on Monday.

According to police sources, a truck of PAC, carrying students was on its way to drop them at their respective schools when a white colour car (LU-731) hit it suddenly.

The car and body of suicider turned into pieces and spread at the vast surrounding area, while truck was partially damaged.

Meanwhile PAC officials, police and  other law enforcing agencies rushed the spot and shifted the injured to PAC hospital Kamra.

DPO Attock Tariq Hanif Joyia and District Coordination Officer Attock Malik Abdul Razzak Malik after visiting the PAC hospital informed that total seven persons were injured and admitted at the PAC hospital including four school children Ifra, Shakeel, Sumbal and Maria and three PAC employees Niaz (driver) Javed (helper) and Iqbal.

One person Javed was shifted to Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi due to his critical condition while the condition of six other injured was stable.

Contrary to the false reports aired by some private TV channels, DPO Attock Tariq Hanif Joyia and District Coordination Officer Attock Malik Abdul Razzak Malik after visiting the PAC hospital confirmed no casualties.

They said that half portion of head and a hand of the suicider were recovered by the police and finger prints are being sent to NADRA to trace the identity of the culprit.

A case was registered by Saddar Attock Police station and constituted two investigation teams to trace the clue of incident, DPO said.

HAZRO: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) enjoys support of the masses and in January 8 elections people would cast vote for its candidates.

This was stated by a PPP candidate for NA-57 Azmat Bukhari while talking to APP here on Wednesday.

He claimed that PPP manifesto reflected the aspirations of common people and the party always worked for the welfare of the general public.

PPP would work for the elimination of poverty, unemployment and corruption from the society, added.
